The Château Haut-Brion vineyard is located in the municipality of Pessac, a few kilometers south-west of Bordeaux. It is part of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, north of the Graves wine region of Bordeaux. Château Haut-Brion is the only one to have the double distinction of Premier Grand Cru Classé in 1855 and Cru Classé de Graves. Elegant and complex, the red wine of Château Haut-Brion is very mineral and of rare complexity, it stands out for its surprising length, this aromatic persistence being the privilege of the very great origins.

100 Parker points for the 2018 vintage.

Excellent with noble, succulent and spicy red meats, duck, pigeon, mature cheeses, game.

Merlot 49.4%, Cabernet Sauvignon 38.7%, Cabernet Franc 11.9%. 62% new barriques.
Deep garnet-purple in color, the wine needs many rotations before it begins to release a whole, complex melody of notes, one at a time to begin: worked earth, followed by pronounced liquorice, then crushed rocks, then preserved plums . In the end, everything comes together in a fascinating crescendo of intense notes of crème de cassis, rose oil, wild blueberries and kirsch, giving way to silent and persistent hints of cinnamon stick, truffles and redcurrant jelly. The medium to full palate offers all this and more, revealing layers of dark fruit, red berries and exotic spices wrapped tightly in a solid, wonderfully soft frame and seamless freshness, finishing with epic length and a load of earth and mineral sparks.
