Old Grand-Dad is a traditional U.S. bourbon whiskey known for its high-rye mash bill (rich presence of rye in the fermentation) that imparts a spicy, spicy and robust flavor profile. The recipe has its origins in the 19th century and was created by Raymond B. Hayden in honor of his grandfather Meredith Basil Hayden Sr. a well-known distiller of the time. Modern production takes place at Jim Beam Distillery in Clermont, Kentucky, under the Beam Suntory group.
The bourbon is available in several expressions (e.g., 80 proof, 100 proof Bottled-In-Bond, and 114 proof high proof), all of which are characterized by aromas of caramel, vanilla, light spices, and toasted wood, with a strong but balanced character.
