Maison Gilliard was founded in 1885 by Edmond Gilliard, and thanks to the acquisitions of important vineyards above the city of Sion, such as Clos du Mont and Clos Brûle-Fer, it can claim to be one of the oldest and best-known wineries in the Valais. The winery now has 75 hectares of vineyards, spread between Venthône and Martigny, and the assortment consists of more than 50 wines made from 22 different grape varieties.
