Angelo Gaja, a world-renowned Piedmontese, bought the "Chiesa di Santa Restituta" estate from Roberto Bellini in 1992 and began to expand the vineyards and improve winemaking with the help of renowned winemaker Attilio Pagli.
1995 was the first vintage in which Angelo Gaja had total control of the viticulture and winemaking of this Brunello di Montalcino, decreasing the yield to 30 hl/Ha of the Sugarille vineyard, immediately achieving significant results.
