The Ruffino winery was founded in the second half of the 19th century in 1877, when cousins Ilario and Leopoldo Ruffino decided to join forces to start producing wines typical of the Florentine hills. The historic winery in Pontassieve, a few kilometers from Florence,
has expanded over time, acquiring six estates in the most important and representative Tuscan wine areas, from the Sienese hills to Chianti Classico and Montalcino.

Put on the market in 1987, Ruffino's MODUS is the quintessential Supertuscan, wines that, since the 1980s, have demonstrated how much the Tuscan territory can express in terms of elegance and intensity, combining Sangiovese, the territory's leading grape variety with the international Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
