As of 2007, Château Léoville Las Cases produces a second wine from its parcels, named "Le Petit Lion du Marquis del Las Casas." The estate is located on 53 hectares fraction north of the appellation, next to Château Latour. It is an excellent alternative to the exceptionally regular Grand cru classé, with the difference that Merlot dominates in the blend, unlike its prestigious older brother.
