The Pontet-Canet vineyards, located in the municipality of Pauillac, extend over 81 hectares. That is to say a hundred parcels and almost 800,000 vines overlooking the Gironde estuary. The heart of the Pontet-Canet terroir, the "Plateau", a Günz gravel ridge, rests on a limestone rock. The biodynamic approach has brought a new dimension to our wines. It gave more depth making the tannins more precise and silky. The length in the mouth has gained in minerality. Our wines are purer and more vibrant.

Excellent with noble, succulent and spicy red meats, duck, pigeon, mature cheeses, game.

Assembly: 65% Cabernet Sauvignon - 30% Merlot 4% Cabernet Franc - 1% Petit Verdot. Hand harvested in small boxes. Manual sorting and destemming. Alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts, 4-week maceration with light punching down, malolactic fermentation in the tank. AGING _ 50% in new barrels, 35% in cement amphorae, 15% in 1 wine barrels - for 16-18 months.
Medium-intense garnet in color, the 2013 Pontet-Canet evolves into aromas of tobacco, new leather and dried mulberries, with a core of kirsch, stewed plums and cigar box, as well as a breath of Indian spices. Medium bodied, elegantly styled and wonderfully refreshing in the mouth, it has a solid line of grainy tannins and plenty of mineral sparkles on the finish.
