The appellation Château Laville Haut-Brion is originally a combination of two different property names. These two properties, Clos Laville and Château La Mission Haut-Brion, were combined in 1928 by the owner of La Mission Haut-Brion, who at the time was Frederic Woltner. In 1931, the wine became known as "Château Laville - Terroir du Haut-Brion," and in 1934 it became "Château Laville Haut-Brion" with the mention "Premier Cru de Graves" on the label. The 2008 vintage will be the last for Château Laville Haut-Brion. The 2009 vintage relaunches the saga of Château La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc.
