Valandraud was born from the tremendous work of Murielle Andraud and Jean Luc Thunevin, both wine enthusiasts. They started with their wine creature in 1991, investing all their money in the purchase of 0.6 hectares of land located in Fongaban, where Saint Emilion's small gardens and intra-muros vineyards are located, and a garage turned into a winery.
Since then, Château Valandraud has grown into a 10.70-hectare vineyard on a clay limestone soil in Saint-Étienne-de-Lisse.
In 2012, it was awarded the 1er Grand Cru Classé classification of St. Emilion
