Aloxe-Corton has been the cradle of the Latour family and the heart of "Domaine Louis Latour" for more than two centuries. The village of Aloxe is situated on a stony knoll at the foot of the mountain of Corton. It was in 1862 that the name of a "climats," Corton, was added to that of Aloxe. Domaine Louis Latour's 30-plus-year-old vines produce a particularly typical Aloxe-Corton because of its terroir composed of clay, sand and alluvial gravel.
