Domaine Louis Latour is one of the largest wineries in Burgundy, with more than 200 years of winemaking history behind it. Its 50 hectares of vineyards, spread over the best parcels of land in the Premier and Grand crus of the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits, produce a range of wines from 130 appellations.
Louis Latour has been actively involved in environmentally friendly viticulture since 1996.
Pommard is the most familiar appellation in Burgundy for many. The village is located 4 km south of Beaune, and the appellation's area is quite large, encompassing about 300 hectares of vines.
Pommard's wines are noticeably different from those of neighboring villages, as they have a tendency to be deeper and more concentrated than those of Volnay's Beaune, with sumptuous aromas and soft tannins. The wines demand a number of years to reveal their particular organoleptic characteristics.
