A family heritage handed down from generation to generation for four centuries, Château d'Auvernier, in perfect harmony with its Cellars became the property of Thierry Grosjean in 1988, strives to defend the reputation of Neuchâtel wines. The estate markets the production of about 60 hectares of vines of which 16 hectares are owned, 24 hectares are leased and the rest by purchasing the harvest from winemakers with whom ties sometimes last several generations.
L'Oeil de Perdrix accounts for 40 percent of sales. The rest is made up of 25 percent red, 30 percent white and 5 percent specialties such as Chardonnay and Pinot Gris. Some crus are aged in barrels.
