Château Mouton-Rothschild is one of the three first classified located in the municipality of Pauillac. It produces one of the most prestigious Bordeaux wines, which bears the same name. It shares this rare distinction with Château Margaux, Château Latour, Château Lafite Rothschild and Château Haut-Brion. The Mouton Rothschild vineyard covers 84 hectares of vines planted with 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot on gravel, pebbles and sand, often clayey, typical of the Médoc. Mouton-Rothschild wines are concentrated and intense, with plenty of body and a toasty, hedonistic side.
Excellent with noble, succulent and spicy red meats, duck, pigeon, mature cheeses, game.
